Step into Opatija's Sweeter Dimension
There are plenty of good reasons to spend a weekend in Opatija. This November, we're adding a few more – and almost all of them involve chocolate.
The Chocolate Festival returns to town, and Liburnia Hotels & Villas is preparing a programme that goes well beyond traditional desserts. From elegant hotel cafés and relaxed lounge bars to chocolate workshops and movie nights, chocolate takes centre stage this November.

November, with a Taste of Chocolate
From 6 to 8 November, the Chocolate Festival transforms Opatija into a destination where everyone's favourite indulgence goes far beyond the dessert plate. For three days, chocolate inspires creative workshops, special culinary creations, wellness rituals and musical experiences. From the Čokoladna čarolija chocolate fair at the Gervais Centre and Juraj Šporer Art Pavilion to inventive sweet and savoury delicacies in Opatija's restaurants and cafés, chocolate-inspired wellness rituals and the Choco Music programme – an autumn stroll by the sea can easily turn into a search for the next chocolate surprise.

Great Classics. Even Better Interpretations.

Café Strauss offers a tempting collection of chocolate desserts, while Café Imperial serves pancakes on the terrace alongside creative takes on familiar favourites. Hotel Ičići

Who Says Chocolate Has to Be Sweet?
Just when you think you've discovered everything chocolate can do, it changes the rules.
At Restaurant Cubo in Hotel Ambasador, chocolate becomes part of a sophisticated culinary experience. Dark chocolate finds its way into a sauce accompanying striploin steak, butternut squash and coffee cream, and glazed carrots. For dessert, a deconstructed Snickers offers a familiar flavour in a completely unexpected form.
The exploration continues at Café Imperial, where chocolate pralines are paired with chocolate liqueurs. Different aromas complement one another, revealing just how intriguing the same ingredient can become in different combinations.
